If Fernandez had never been promoted to Double-A last year, his perceived dynasty value would probably be higher. However, the power-hitting outfielder hit .206 with a 32.9 K% in 56 Double-A games as a 20-year-old, which raises obvious concerns about his hit tool. Prior to the aggressive promotion, Fernandez slashed .319/.354/.605 with 17 home runs, a 5.2 percent walk rate and a 17.9 percent strikeout rate in 58 games while playing half his games in the hitter-friendly park at High-A Spokane. The lefty-hitting Cuban has a very high four-category ceiling, thanks to his huge power and the potential to call Coors Field home. If he shows better bat-to-ball skill in the upper levels during his age-21 season, that would reduce concerns about how the bat will play at the highest level, given his youth and power.
