Cabbage made his big-league debut with the Angels in 2023 but had just 56 plate appearances, going 11-for-53 with a 46.4 percent strikeout rate. He was then designated for assignment and traded to the Astros in January, which certainly doesn't help his prospects for immediate playing time. Cabbage found plenty of success in his first year at the Triple-A level last season with 30 homers, 32 steals and a .975 OPS in 107 contests, but that was also accompanied by a 30 percent strikeout rate. Even when at his most productive in the minor leagues, the 26-year-old has struggled to consistently make contact, and he's unlikely to receive an extended look in MLB without a significant improvement in that area.
