Vest has emerged as a steady and productive bullpen piece for the Tigers the past few seasons. After posting a 2.98 ERA and 1.10 WHIP across 48.1 innings in 2023, the veteran had a similar 2.82 ERA and 1.12 WHIP last year while seeing his workload expand to a career-high 70.1 innings. With his FIP also coming in at 2.82 in 2024, Vest's sub-3.00 ERA looks sustainable moving forward. The righty's K/9 did come down from 10.43 in 2023 to 8.06 last year, though his average fastball velocity actually ticked up a bit from prior seasons, so the stuff is still there to swing that K/9 back upward. Vest saw plenty of high-leverage work in 2024, finishing second on the team with 14 holds, and he also chipped in two saves. Jason Foley and Tyler Holton led the way when it came to save opportunities in Detroit last year, but Vest certainly is a trusted option, so he always has a chance to move up the bullpen pecking order if others struggle or get hurt. Vest has his greatest fantasy value in leagues that count holds, though he should contribute useful ratios and a few saves for managers in all formats. Read Past Outlooks
