Stone was a popular post-hype sleeper in the spring and he made good on that promise, notching a 3.53 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 11 wins over 25 starts in his age-25 season. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury that required surgery in October is likely to cost him the 2025 season. Known best for his elite changeup, Stone's improved slider had a 138 Stuff+ last season, which was a notable development and enabled him to navigate big-league lineups multiple times. He throws a sinker and a four-seamer while occasionally mixing in a cutter, but it's really about locating the fastball and then using the changeup and slider to miss bats or generate weak contact. Stone's 140.1 innings were a career high, and he'll look to build back up in 2026, when he still won't be arbitration eligible. Read Past Outlooks
