Hanifee made his MLB debut with the Tigers in 2023, seeing three games of action toward the end of the year. Prior to coming over to Detroit, he spent his entire career in the Baltimore organization, getting as high as the Double-A level in 2022. Hanifee doesn't have overpowering stuff for a reliever, as his average fastball sits a tick under 94 mph. He compiled 85 strikeouts across 95.1 total innings last season, and a K/9 somewhere in the 8.0 range seems like his MLB ceiling. Hanifee signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers in early December and received an invitation to major-league spring training, so he'll have a chance to compete for an MLB bullpen role to start the year. It seems more likely that he'll kick things off with Triple-A Toledo and aim for a promotion down the road. As a low-leverage reliever who's not guaranteed to stick in the majors, Hanifee doesn't have a ton of fantasy appeal at the moment. Read Past Outlooks
