It was a tale of two seasons for De La Cruz in 2024. He maintained a decent .707 OPS with the Marlins while serving as a near everyday corner outfielder. However, after he was dealt to Pittsburgh at the trade deadline, he managed just a .514 OPS across 168 plate appearances and ultimately became a part-time player. That led to him being non-tendered this offseason, though he quickly signed a minor-league deal in Atlanta. Depending on the health of Ronald Acuna, De La Cruz could begin the season as an option in right field, though it appears that the most likely outcome is that he serves on the small side of a platoon with Jarred Kelenic.
