2025 Fantasy Outlook

Beck's efforts were severely limited in 2024 by a shoulder aneurysm which occurred in Spring Training and caused him to miss most of the season. He worked just under 30 innings when things were all said and done, but he was effective in his September work for the Giants. Back has been a full-time starter throughout his entire professional career, but the time missed in 2024 may lead the Giants to use Beck in a swing role out of the bullpen in 2025 so as not to overwork him. His fastball has been particularly tough on batters because of his extension and the ride he gets on the pitch more so than its velocity. However, his non-fastballs have not delivered the same types of outcomes despite his slider being graded out as his best pitch by Stuff+. Relief may be the best home for Beck long term and it would not surprise us to see his stuff play up in shorter stints in 2025 with the Giants should the decide to carefully manage his workload after the lost time last season.
