FanDuel MLB: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel MLB: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Marcus Stroman, TOR vs. CWS ($9,300): Stroman owns a 2.08 ERA and .224 wOBA against in June and a 3.20 ERA and .302 wOBA against at home. The Jays come with the biggest odds in Vegas on the day, by far (-225), while the White Sox have an 85 wRC+ and .150 ISO against righties. The only hunch here is that the matchup is too good to be true, and Stroman could come with high ownership as a result.

Catcher

Roberto Perez, CLE at MIN ($2,800): Just a guess, but I'm looking for Perez to draw the start in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader following last night's contest, when Yan Gomes was behind the dish. Gomes ($2,500) makes for an easy plug in should he get the call against Twins' starter Adam Wilk, who has allowed eight runs in 10.2 innings this season and a .473 wOBA to righties.

First Base

Mark Reynolds, COL vs. SFG ($4,100): San Francisco's Matt Cain owns a 6.62 ERA at Coors Field over the last three seasons and has an 8.40 ERA on the road in 2017. He's allowing a .379 wOBA and four homers to righties over 18.2 innings, while Reynolds has a .440 wOBA, 157 wRC+ and 1.052 OPS against righties.

Second Base

Brian Dozier, MIN vs. CLE ($3,700): Prior to Thursday, Dozier had managed at least 12 fantasy points in six of his last seven. His .447 wOBA, 183 wRC+ and 1.070 OPS against lefties suggest a continuation of Dozier's hot streak against Indians' starter Ryan Merrit, who has allowed all of his earned runs to occur on the road over 11.0 innings.

Third Base

Josh Donaldson, TOR vs. CWS ($4,100): Donaldson has a wOBA north of .425 and a wRC+ of over 170 against all comers. Opposition pitcher Mike Pelfrey has been surprisingly solid of late, allowing four runs over his last 19.0 innings (none of which came via the long ball), but he's an aging veteran that cannot rely on his fastball, which averages out under 85 mph. Pelfrey allowed a .923 OPS and .394 wOBA to lefties a season ago.

Shortstop

Xander Bogaerts, BOS at HOU ($3,500): Bogaerts is only 5-of-24 over his last five games, causing his price to fall right into bargain territory. He ranks second behind only Mitch Moreland in this lineup with a .364 wOBA and 123 wRC+ against right-handers while Astros' starter David Paulino is surrendering a .355 wOBA to righties in his brief stint with the club (8.0 innings).

Outfield

Cody Bellinger, LAD at CIN ($3,900): 18 homers in 47 games entering Thursday's tilt, paired with a .467 wOBA, 196 wRC+, .435 ISO and 1.147 OPS on the road against righties, are stats that speak for themselves. If that weren't enough, Reds' starter Asher Wojciechowski has allowed a .409 wOBA to lefties over 84 career batters.

Nomar Mazara, TEX vs. SEA ($3,700): Mazara owns a .389 wOBA, 141 wRC+ and .219 ISO at home against righties, the highest total among all four of his possible splits. Meanwhile, Mariners' starter Yovani Gallardo has allowed 13 runs and a wOBA of .392 over 16.0 June frames.

Hernan Perez, MIL vs. SDP ($3,200): After two impressive showings to start his career, Padres' rookie starter Dinelson Lamet has allowed seven runs in each of his last two starts, spanning just 8.0 combined innings. Perez boasts a .367 wOBA and .288 ISO against righties, with eight of his nine long balls coming against that handedness.
