Pitcher
Jake Junis, KC at DET ($7,300) – Though Junis has yet to show much consistency, he has flashed plenty of upside, with two games of 44-plus points in his past five starts. His only poor start came against the red-hot Indians, so we can't really blame him for that. The matchup is what is really driving this pick though, as the Tigers in their current state are no better than the Padres.
Catcher
Salvador Perez, KC at DET ($2,300) – Perez hasn't hit well over the past few weeks, and Artie Lewicki is an unknown in this scenario, but we do know that the Tigers have few options for starters and anyone they bring up is bound to pitch poorly. Perez has fared better against righties than lefties this season and is still averaging 9.3 points per game, so the upside remains.
First Base
Anthony Rizzo, CHC at PIT ($5,000) – Chad Kuhl takes the mound for the Pirates, and while he's been decent this season, he's struggled with lefties. While I don't plan to stack the Cubs, I do expect Rizzo to produce against Kuhl. Rizzo enters with a .391 wOBA against lefties.
Second Base
Jose Ramirez, CLE at CHW ($3,500) – James Shields hasn't been terrible lately, but a matchup against the Indians could change that in a hurry. Shields enters with a 5.72 ERA on the season, but he's held it in check for the most part lately. That's bound to change when he faces what could be the hottest lineup in baseball, led by a guy who recorded five extra base hits Sunday. Ramirez has hit well from both sides of the plate, but he's been better as a lefty this season.
Shortstop
Wilmer Difo, WAS at MIA ($3,200) – With Trea Turner back in the mix, playing time will be harder to come by for Difo, but considering his numbers against lefties this season, the Nats will likely find a spot for him when facing a lefty. Adam Conley takes the hill for the Marlins brings a 5.02 ERA with him. While Conley isn't a guy I would automatically target, the Nats have a lot of hitters that fare well against lefties, so I might target the lower-priced guys. Difo enters with a .453 wOBA against lefties this season, which is tops on the Nats.
Third Base
Nolan Arenado, COL vs SF ($4,300) – The salaries for the Rockies have come down for the most part, which means you might be able to put together a decent stack against Matt Moore. Moore had a nice stretch over the past few weeks where he looked like the pitcher he once was, but hopes of a complete resurrection were flattened when he surrendered five runs to the Padres in his most recent start. While many Rockies are in play against Moore, Arenado is at the top of the list, entering with a .522 wOBA against lefties this season.
Outfield
Giancarlo Stanton, MIA vs WAS ($4,600) – Erick Fedde takes the hill for the Nationals and he brings a 9.39 ERA with him. Fedde has only made three starts, but he's been hammered in all three appearances. Stanton enters with a .405 wOBA against righties this season, so his chances of hitting yet another home run are pretty high.
Mike Trout, LAA at OAK ($5,000) – There is a lot of high-priced talent on this slate with very favorable matchups. Chris Smith enters with a 6.27 ERA, and that number is bound to go up as he faces a hot Angels lineup. Trout is, of course the top selection on the Angels, but the main reason he's on the list is his wOBA against righties this season. Trout enters with a .472 wOBA against righties, which is tops in the majors.
Howie Kendrick, WAS at MIA ($3,100) – Unlike Sunday, when the slate was full of good stacks, this slate is full of high-end talent with good matchups and few — if any — quality stacking options. The best way to balance those high salaries is to find a stack with some lower-priced options, like the Nats. Kendrick fits the bill perfectly, entering with a .418 wOBA against lefties this season.
