Sutton made her WNBA debut in 2020 but was out of the league for two seasons before landing a training camp deal with the Mercury ahead of the 2023 campaign. She earned a roster spot with Phoenix and managed to carve out a fairly sizable role, averaging 8.2 points, 4.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 26.3 minutes per game over 40 appearances (12 starts). The Mercury have extended a reserved qualifying offer to her ahead of the 2024 season, but if she returns to Phoenix in 2024, she'll have several new teammates to compete with for playing time, as the team brought in Kahleah Copper and Natasha Cloud. Her role elsewhere would be somewhat murkier, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the 25-year-old at least be able to see consistent bench minutes in 2024, regardless of where she's playing. ANALYSIS
Sutton spent her third WNBA season in both Phoenix and Washington, being dealt to the Mystics during the regular season and concluding with seven games in a Washington uniform. Sutton played a limited role off the bench with the Mystics, putting a cap on a relatively quiet year in two locations. Sutton enters the offseason as a Reserved free agent, so Washington will have the exclusive ability to re-sign her before others would ahead of the 2025 campaign.
