Benzema has signed a two-year contract with the option to add another one with Al-Ittihad after leaving Real Madrid as a free agent, the club announced Tuesday.

Benzema officially leaves Real Madrid as the club's second all-time leading scorer (354 goals) and fifth on the all-time list of appearances (648), having won 25 trophies with the team including four La Ligas and five Champions Leagues since joining from Lyon back in 2009. The 35-year-old striker is now moving to Saudi Pro League defending champions Al-Ittihad, a rival club of his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.
