Terminates contract with Celta
GFree Agent
January 10, 2024
Marchesin and Celta Vigo reached an agreement to terminate the player's contract, ending his time with the team, his former club announced Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Marchesin's time in Celta is coming to an end after only one and a half seasons, as the two parties reached an agreement to disassociate him from the club and terminate his contract. The goalie played 19 matches while with the team, all of which came last season, registering 44 saves and six clean sheets while allowing 29 goals during that span. He has suffered an Achilles injury that kept him out for the better part of 10 months, which most likely resulted in him losing the starting spot he once held this season. He will not hope to find work somewhere else, as the 35-year-old is getting up there in age and may be reaching the end of his playing days within the next few years.

Keen on America return?
GCelta Vigo
November 11, 2022
Marchesin wants to return to America, according to Daniel Gutierrez of SoyFutbol.
ANALYSIS
Marchesin is happy at Celta de Vigo, but this is not the first time he says he wants to return to America. It's hard to imagine him returning, though, as Guillermo Ochoa is entrenched between the posts for Las Aguilas and is reportedly close to sign a new two-year deal with the club.
