Daniel Dye

20-Year-Old Driver
McAnally-Hilgermann Racing
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Dye had a bit of a lackluster rookie season in 2023 with the former GMS Racing. He'd struggle to just one Top-10 finish and wind up 18th in the final driver standings. The talented youngster showed that in good equipment he could be pretty consistent and excellent in the ARCA Menards Series. He'll get another season with the MHR team in this same No. 43 Chevrolet. Dye has a lot to prove in 2024 as his average finish of 20.2 in his rookie campaign fell short of expectations. At the point of this writing, his crew chief has not been named by the team. This will be a pretty key piece to any potential improvement and success. Dye is clearly talented but still has a lot to learn about driving this NASCAR trucks. Read Past Outlooks
Third in Love's RV Stop 225
Craftsman Truck Series
October 4, 2024
Dye finished third in the Love's RV Stop 225 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
The young driver of the No. 43 Chevrolet would start deep in the field at 35th on the starting grid. Dye would patiently work his way forward over the length of the race. He would lead 3 laps in the middle stages and be among the leaders in the closing laps. Dye would get too aggressive pushing Tyler Ankrum and would set off a last lap crash coming to the finish. However, Dye would keep control and collect an impressive third-place finish. It was just his second Top 5 of the season.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
The 19-year-old Floridian has been raising eyebrows in the ARCA Menards Series the last couple years, so he's gotten the attention of noteworthy teams in the Craftsman Truck Series. GMS Racing wasted no time signing Dye last October to compete full-time in their No. 43 Chevy truck. Dye will be paired with crew chief Travis Sharpe for this rookie season and the two will look to elevate this team immediately. The young driver, while winless last season in the ARCA Menards Series, showed great maturity and consistency and finished runner-up in the championship standings of 2022. Dye has great potential and will battle hotly with drivers like Nick Sanchez and Rajah Caruth for rookie of the year honors.
