Chad Finchum

Austin Hill will be racing for the Camping World Truck Series championship again in 2021, but he'll still have time for some part-time action in the Xfinity Series. Hill made nine starts for this team last season and grabbed a pair of Top-10 finishes in those efforts. He should be up for a similar slate of races in the new season. Hill will be joined by Timmy Hill, Leicht and Finchum in rounding out the team's 33-race schedule. As a collective, they grabbed three Top 10's and nine Top-20 finishes. There's a lot of good to point to, as well as a lot of bad. Inconsistency plagued this team in 2020 with 10 DNF's. The small team has the potential to do much better, but will have to find better consistency with this revolving door of drivers.

The 25-year-old Tennessean will compete full-time in one of the MBM Toyotas this season. At the time of this writing it hasn't been announced which car number, but it's assumed to be the No. 61 entry. MBM will run two cars full-time in the upcoming season, and this will be one of those entries. Finchum labored through last season racing in this team's multiple cars. He posted just three Top-20 finishes vs. a whopping 18 DNF's. It's difficult to tell if the situation will improve much in 2020. With sponsorship and funding question marks still looming, Finchum could be in for another rough campaign of non-competitive racing.

MBM is expected to focus their attention on the Xfinity Series this season, and that's the good news for Finchum and this race team. They raced the full schedule last year with exception of one DNQ. Finchum was the pilot for all but one of those starts. The team was running at the end of most races, with the exception of 12 DNF's. It was an attempt at competitive racing. The No. 40 squad should be more focused in the upcoming season, and Finchum now has some valuable seat time to rely on for experience. The 24-year-old driver now has 39 races of experience in this division of NASCAR.
