Miranda loses decision Sunday
Miranda lost to Abu Azaitar via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night 134 on Sunday in Hamburg, Germany.
ANALYSIS
It was clear from the outset that Miranda didn't have the speed to keep up with Azaitar on the feet, which led to the veteran securing several takedowns. Miranda achieved full mount on more than one occasion and was fairly deep on an armbar in the third round but was unable to close the show, allowing Azaitar's powerful, quick striking to win the day. While he fought well, Miranda is one of several fighters on the UFC Hamburg card that may be reaching the end of the road, as he is 39-years-old and has lost his last three fights.

Will fight in Hamburg
Miranda will face Abu Azaitar at UFC Hamburg on July 22, MMA Fighting reports.
ANALYSIS
Miranda hasn't fought since June of 2017 after pulling out of UFC on FOX 26 for personal reasons. His long absence is certainly a slight cause for concern -- along with his age being 39 -- but Azaitar hasn't actually fought professionally since October of 2016.

Pulls out of Winnipeg fight
Miranda withdrew from his bout against Julian Marquez at UFC on FOX 26 on Dec. 16 in Winnipeg, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Miranda cited various reasons for his removal from the fight against Marquez, with one of them being his recent marriage combined with his wife's impending pregnancy. "Lex Luthor" hasn't been able to spend his typical time in the gym, and he claims that it has started to show. Instead of facing off against a newcomer such as Marquez, Miranda would like to be fully focused by the time he's back in the arena. In his place, Darren Stewart will take on Marquez.

Will meet Julian Marquez at UFC on FOX 26
Miranda will face Julian Marquez in a middleweight bout at UFC on FOX 26 on December 16 in Winnipeg, Canada, Danny Segura of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Miranda has suffered two straight losses and will look to turn it around against newcomer Marquez. "Lex Luthor" has nine KO/TKO victories in his 12-6 career (3-3 UFC) but hasn't been able to pull out a decision in the UFC. He has 11 years on the newcomer, but with age comes experience. With this matchup being between two stand-up artists, experience could be the advantage that Vitor needs to gain a win.

Loses via unanimous decision in Oklahoma City
Miranda was defeated by Marvin Vettori by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night 112 on Sunday in Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Miranda was very hesitant for the entire first round. Vettori walked him down and landed good power shots. Miranda got more active in the second round and was able to land a lot of leg kicks, but he got taken down and controlled on the ground. In the third round, the Brazilian middleweight was walking Vettori down, but both fighters were exhausted and didn't have as much behind their punches. Vettori was able to get another takedown towards the end of the round. The takedowns were a big problem for Miranda as he had difficulty stopping them.
