Routed by Ismael Bonfim
LightweightUFC
May 4, 2024
Pichel lost to Ismael Bonfim via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Father Time remains undefeated, as Pichel, now 41 years of age, had nothing for the younger, stronger, more athletic Bonfim. Vinc is one of the toughest men on the roster and always game to stand with his opponent and throw down, but he had zero chance of winning that type of fight here, as evidenced by the fact Bonfim nearly doubled him up (112-64) in terms of total strikes landed. Pichel has been a member of the UFC roster since December 2012, but has fought just 11 times (7-4) during that span. Without a victory dating back to August 2021, the company could easily decide to cut bait here.
