Given 180-day medical suspension after UFC 213
Browne has received a 180-day medical suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission following his UFC loss to Aleksei Oleinik, MMAFighting.comreports.
ANALYSIS
Browne started this fight strong but again suffered a stoppage loss, this time via submission (rear-naked choke) in the second round. Prior to the stop, he landed only 35 significant strikes and one takedown, which he landed and moved into side control only to have it reversed into the finishing move of the fight. This signals Browne's fourth straight loss, though they came to tough opponents (Derrick Lewis, Fabricio Werdum, Cain Velasquez). He was given a medical suspension of 180 days pending clearance by a physician due to a possible left foot injury. Robert Whittaker, Curtis Blaydes and Anthony Pettis have also received 180-day medical suspensions pending clearance.

Suffers fourth straight loss at UFC 213
Browne was defeated by Aleksei Oleinik via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:44 of Round 2 at UFC 213 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Browne started out well in the first round, utilizing his distance and finally going back to using kicks, similar to when he was a top-five ranked UFC heavyweight. He hurt Oleinik early, and it seemed that the fight might stop there. Oleinik ended up catching Browne, and then eventually took him down towards the end of the round and was very close to finishing a choke at the bell. In the second round, Browne once again started out well, and even got a takedown and transitioned to side control. The expert grappler, Oleinik was able to hit a switch, and wound up taking back control where he eventually finished the fight. This was very similar to when Browne had early success against Derrick Lewis in his last fight, and then suffered a stoppage loss. Back to the drawing board for Browne, where he must figure out how to finish fights when he has his opponent hurt.

To face Alexey Oleynik at UFC 213
Browne will take on Alexey Oleynik in a heavyweight matchup at UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Though the recently-engaged Browne has had positive developments in his personal life, his time inside the Octagon of late has been a different story. He's been challenged with quality competition, but the heavyweight contender has dropped five of his last seven bouts. Though the 39-year-old Oleynik is incredibly dangerous on the ground, this clearly represents a step down in competition for Browne. If "Hapa" cannot come out on top this time, his job may be in jeopardy despite strong name recognition. Fighters that drop four in a row don't tend to stick around long.

Falls against Derrick Lewis
Browne lost to Derrick Lewis via TKO (punches) at 3:12 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night in Halifax.
ANALYSIS
Browne came out in the first round with a clear strategy. He stayed on the outside and landed a series of kicks to the body and legs. He clearly won the first round and appeared to hurt Lewis to the body. In the second round, Browne tried to continue the trend. However, Lewis was able to catch Browne and it was the beginning of the end. In a second exchange, Lewis dropped Browne with a series of punches. Once on top, Lewis finished the fight with vicious ground and pound. Browne has now lost five of his last seven bouts.

Moved to UFC Halifax
Browne will now face Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC Halifax on Feb. 19, rather than at UFC 208 as originally scheduled.
ANALYSIS
Browne and Lewis were scheduled to face off at UFC 208 on Feb. 11, but after a Stefan Struve injury cancelled the main event of the promotion's card a week later, the two heavyweights will now get an opportunity to be featured in a main event showcase.
