At one point, Evinger was though of capable to challenge for the UFC featherweight title, but she's gone winless in UFC after two fighters by losing to Aspen Ladd and Cris Cyborg. Suffers second straight stoppage loss Saturday
Evinger lost to Aspen Ladd via TKO (strikes) at 3:26 of Round 1 at UFC 229 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was a particularly concerning performance for Evinger. Getting stopped by Cris Cyborg is one thing, but not making it out of the first round against Ladd is a different story. Evinger was seemingly in decent position during an exchange along the fence before Ladd ended up on top of her and Evinger was all but done at that point. She absorbed a good dozen unnecessary shots due to the incompetence of referee Chris Tognoni. Now 37 years old and coming off back-to-back fights in which she wasn't competitive, it's fair to wonder if Evinger is staring at the end of the line.
