Peterson lost to Julian Erosa via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

This was a tremendously fun fight in which both men battered each other from pillar to post. Unfortunately for Peterson, he lost, and to make matters worse, he forfeited 30 percent of his purse to Erosa after missing weight by three pounds on Friday morning. Peterson actually landed 104 total strikes compared to just 99 from Erosa. Peterson was the better man in Round 2, but Erosa started strong and finished strong, and that's typically enough in the eyes of the judges. Peterson will not be eligible for any post-fight bonuses because of the weight miss, so the Fight of the Night that was awarded here will end up going entirely to Erosa.
