The UFC terminated Pajuelo's contract after he accepted a 24-month sanction for violating the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, according to the promotion's statement Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Pajuelo tested positive for 19-norandrosterone twice in a three-week span in August and admitted to using deca-durabolin (nandrolone) before his sample collections. The 29-year-old's suspension began on Aug. 23 and will end the same day in 2026. But after Pajuelo's admission to using nandrolone, the UFC terminated his contract.

Pajuelo lost to Fernando Padilla via submission (D'arce choke) at 2:45 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Pajuelo earned his UFC contract after a first-round knockout win on Dana White's Contender Series last August. He was unable to continue that momentum in his official debut with the company. He was blasted with a handful of massive strikes from Padilla before getting quickly choked out. Pajuelo has displayed some significant power in the past, but all of his eight career wins have come against middling competition on the regional scene. As we saw this evening, the 29-year-old native of Peru is going to find life much more difficult in the UFC.

Pajuelo defeated Robbie Ring via TKO (knee and ground punches) at 3:43 of Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of three fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Ring attempted to pour on the pressure early, but Pajuelo never seemed flustered, baiting his opponent into a war that eventually allowed him to land a big right hand. The Peruvian fighter wasted little time once Ring was on the ground, landing a debilitating knee to the body which led to the ref stepping in. Having won eight of his nine professional MMA bouts by KO/TKO, Pajuelo is no stranger to firefights, but he has shown a composure beyond his level of experience, keeping himself safe while waiting for his opportunity to turn the tide. "Corazon de Leon" should make a home for himself at featherweight in short order while he looks to climb the ranks.
