Still searching for first UFC win

Quinones lost to Marquel Mederos via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
There's absolutely a case to be made that Quinones deserved a better fate, and it's surprising not one of the three judges thought he won this fight. He clearly won Round 1, but the debuting Mederos began to regain momentum as the bout progressed. Quinones' output dipped over the course of the final ten minutes, and that was enough to cost him in what was a very close fight. Quinones has shown well in each of his first two UFC bouts, but he's also lost both. He probably needs a win his next time out in order to extend his time with the company.

Set to fight Mederos
LightweightUFC
November 29, 2023
Quinones will fight Marquel Mederos at UFC Vegas 85 on Feb. 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After dropping his UFC debut against Nasrat Haqparast in September, Quinones will face an opponent who will be making his own debut. Dropping to 0-2 could prompt questions about Quinones' future with the UFC, so he will surely be motivated to secure his first win versus a new fighter.
Strong showing in debut loss

Quinones lost to Nasrat Haqparast via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 293 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Just a couple months ago, Quinones was losing to Jason Knight in the opening round of the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter. He got a chance to make his official company debut here as a +380 underdog and appeared much improved despite the setback. Landon absorbed far too much damage from Haqparast throughout the course of the bout, but also landed plenty of effective leg kicks that left his opponent hobbled. His toughness was also on display throughout the duration of the fight. All things considered, it was an encouraging performance and one that should ensure Quinones gets a second opportunity with the UFC.
Set for debut at UFC 293
LightweightUFC
August 23, 2023
Quinones is in line to make his UFC debut in a lightweight matchup at UFC 293 on Sept. 9 in Sydney, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Fight fans may be a bit familiar with Quinones, as he competed for Team Chandler in the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter, where he lost to Jason Knight in the opening round of the tournament. Prior to that, he had competed under the banner of Titan FC, where he's riding a five-fight winning streak with four stoppage victories. He also recently won a grappling match with the same promotion. He'll likely enter as a heavy underdog for this short-notice opportunity, as Haqparast is a UFC vet who has already faced multiple ranked fighters in the division.
