Gracie is set to face off with Charles Jourdain in a featherweight bout, at UFC 288 on May 6, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.

Gracie will make his return to the UFC and square off with Charles Jourdain in May. The 34-year-old fighter was most recently defeated by Cub Swanson in October of 2019, and he holds a record of 1-1 in the UFC.

Gracie lost to Cub Swanson via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa.

His first professional loss aside, Gracie should be proud of himself. He hung tough in a kickboxing match that favored Swanson from the very start. Gracie has all of six pro fights under his belt at age 31. His first five prior to Saturday had resulted in submission victories, but the longer he was forced to stand on the feet, the worse it got for him. Gracie certainly dished out his fair share of punishment to Swanson as well, but it's quite clear the Brazilian BJJ wizard has work to do refining his all-around game. Gracie is quite an athlete and he trains with the Diaz brothers, so don't bet against Kron. On the bright side, the two men will each take home a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus for their efforts.

Nonetheless, Swanson has plenty of name recognition due to a list of historically wild fights, even if he happens to be riding a four-fight losing streak in present time. All of those losses have been to well-respected competition, however, so Gracie would be unwise to underestimate one of the greatest featherweights to never own a belt. From a fantasy perspective, Gracie owners will essentially be counting on a first-round submission, as he was credited with just two significant strikes before doing just that to Alex Caceres in his UFC debut. The door may be open for grappling points against Swanson, however, as he owns just a career 60 percent takedown defense. He's been better in that area of late, though much of that can be attributed to facing strike-first opponents.

Set for UFC debut
Gracie inked a contract with the UFC on Monday and will take on Alex Caceres in his debut Jan. 26 in Anaheim, California, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
