Gracie will take on Bryce Mitchell in a featherweight matchup at UFC 310 on December 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Gracie suffered his second consecutive defeat to Charles Jourdain in May, and he now takes on a fighter in Mitchell who is coming off a KO loss and has been sidelined nearly a year since. Like Gracie, Mitchell is a mat specialist not regarded for his striking skills, but it remains to be seen if the two will settle things on the mat or avoid their opponent's best strength by keeping it standing.

Fighting for the first time since October 2019, Gracie wasn't the least bit competitive. He was destroyed by Jourdain on the feet, as expected, and spent the entire fight trying to pull guard in order to get the fight to the mat. Knowing full well how dangerous Kron is in the submission game, Jourdain allowed him zero openings on the ground, eliminating any chance Gracie had of winning the fight. Kron clearly has a world-class skill, but this is mixed martial arts, not a grappling contest. Set to turn 35 years of age in July and with all of seven professional fights under his belt, the odds are overwhelmingly against Gracie ever making any sort of run in the UFC.

Gracie certainly dished out his fair share of punishment to Swanson as well, but it's quite clear the Brazilian BJJ wizard has work to do refining his all-around game. Gracie is quite an athlete and he trains with the Diaz brothers, so don't bet against Kron. On the bright side, the two men will each take home a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus for their efforts.

From a fantasy perspective, Gracie owners will essentially be counting on a first-round submission, as he was credited with just two significant strikes before doing just that to Alex Caceres in his UFC debut.
