MiddleweightOther
January 26, 2018
Grove lost to AJ Matthews via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27) at Bellator 193 on Friday in Temecula, Calif.
ANALYSIS
Grove tried to use his reach advantage in this fight. His plan was to land straights and kicks on the outside. However, Matthews had an edge in terms of technical striking. He was able to avoid and slip punches and come forward with counters. Grove spent a lot of this fight walking backwards, which limited him offensively. It was not a blowout, but Grove struggled in the striking battle. With the decision loss, he has now lost three fights in a row. His professional record falls to 23-18.

Submits against John Salter in the co-main event of Bellator 181
MiddleweightOther
July 14, 2017
Grove lost to john Salter via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:37 of Round 1 at Bellator 181 on Friday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
Grove has now gone 4-4 in Bellator since joining the promotion in 2013. He looked solid early in the fight. He had a reach advantage, and he made good use of it. However, late in the round, Salter closed the distance with a takedown attempt and finished it clean. He knifed through Grove's guard and ended up taking his back. Middleweight is not one of Bellator's stronger divisions, so Grove will likely remain with the promotion for at least his next few fights.
Can't withstand Alexander Shlemenko at Bellator 162

October 21, 2016
Grove lost to Alexander Shlemenko via TKO (punches) at 1:43 of round two at Bellator 162 on Friday in Memphis, Tenn.
ANALYSIS
Durability has always been an issue for Grove. After getting caught early in the fight and surviving, it looked like he might be able to pull out the victory. However, in the second round, he fell victim to a nasty combination from Shlemenko. Grove has been knocked out in eight of his 16 losses including his last three losses. A win here likely would have kept him in the picture for a shot at the Bellator title, but now he must go back to the drawing board.

Grove defeated Joey Beltran via TKO (punches) at 2:27 of Round 3 at Bellator 143 on Friday in Hidalgo, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Grove put together an impressive combination to finish Beltran at the end of a lethargic, slow-paced fight. "Da Spyder" now finds himself back in the winning column, but didn't prove much with a victory over the shopworn Beltran. The 6-foot-6 Hawaiian will need wins over higher competition before receiving another title shot.

Grove will enter his middleweight fight with Joey Beltran as a -140 favorite at Bellator 143 on Friday in Hidalgo, Texas.
ANALYSIS
"Da Spyder" will look to rebound from a TKO loss in his title fight against Brandon Halsey at Bellator 137. His chin may be suspect, but Grove's reach advantage and dangerous guard will be assets in his fight against the brawling Beltran.
Kendall Grove: Destroyed At Bellator 137 Friday
MiddleweightOther
May 15, 2015
Grove lost to Brandon Halsey by TKO at 2:25 of Round 4 in the middleweight championship fight at Bellator 137 on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Not good. Grove was planted on his back about 10 seconds into the fight and never recovered. Halsey dominated in every facet on the bout and Grove was totally unable to respond. He simply had no answer for the bigger and stronger Halsey. Grove stated that his plan was to try to steal the fight in the 4th or 5th round, but he never had a chance. Even though Halsey was forced to vacate the middleweight title despite the win, it seems likely that this was Grove's one and only shot at a title in the Bellator organization.
