Loses fourth straight fight in Shanghai
strawweightUFC
November 26, 2017
Curran was defeated by Yan Xiaonan via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night: Shanghai on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Curran had a hard time dealing with Xiaonan's power throughout the fight. She absorbed a right front kick early in the first round and was dropped to a knee by a straight right hand shortly after that. It was more of the same in the second round as Curran landed short shots, but the UFC newcomer was able to land power shots throughout the frame. When Curran was able to land a takedown, the Chinese bantamweight was able to quickly get back to her feet. Curran likely won the third round as she was able to land a takedown and keep Xiaonan grounded for an extended period of time. Later in the round, after the fight went back to standing, Curran cut Xiaonan. Ultimately, the late push was not enough as Xiaonan seemed to clearly win the first two rounds.

November 21, 2017
Curran will face Yan Xiaonan in a strawweight fight at UFC Fight Night 122 on Nov. 25 in Shanghai, UFC.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Curran has really struggle in the UFC, having gone 1-5 since joining the promotion in 2014. The strawweight is 4-5 ovearlll and scores an average 2.00 takedowns a bout, but absorbs 4.38 significant strikes on average, which could come from the 53 percent strike defense she shows statistic-wise. She needs to get back on the winning track with this bout against Xiaonan.
Career record dips below .500 after loss Saturday

Curran lost to Alexandra Albu via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 214 on Saturday in Anaheim.
ANALYSIS
It was a highly entertaining and competitive fight, but it is unlikely to save Curran's job. She got off to a very slow start before using her jab to pick apart a tiring Albu in Round 3. Unfortunately for Curran she had already placed herself in too big of a hole to climb out of. Currently sporting a 1-5 record in the UFC and a 4-5 overall career record, Curran figures to be released in the near future.

Curran lost to Jamie Moyle via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a brutal, physical fight in which both women took plenty of damage. Unfortunately for Curran, she doesn't have the kind of power that lends itself to finishing fights. She did progressively better on the feet as the fight went along, which is an improvement from what we have seen from Curran in the past, the bottom line is that she is now 1-4 during her time in the UFC. The odds are probably better than 50/50 that she will be handed her walking papers.
Quickly submitted by Felice Herrig in Chicago

July 23, 2016
Curran lost to Felice Herrig via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:59 of Round 1 at UFC on FOX 20 on Saturday in Chicago.
ANALYSIS
After a brief striking exchange to begin the fight, Curran was forced to the mat by Herrig and she was never able to recover. She fought the RNC the best she could, but as she appeared to be on the verge of losing consciousness, Curran was finally forced to tap out. Curran turned 25 in April, and while she is slowly making significant improvement, she still makes plenty of rookie mistakes. Her calling card is her athleticism, but she didn't get to put that to use here. Curran has potential, but she is now 1-3 in her first four UFC fights.
Set to battle Felice Herrig Saturday in Chicago
strawweightUFC
July 21, 2016
Curran (-110) is a slight favorite for her women's strawweight fight against Felice Herrig that will take place at UFC on FOX 20 on Saturday in Chicago.
ANALYSIS
To this point in her young career, the 25-year-old Curran has gotten by on her pure athleticism, but she is slowly becoming and more technical, and as a result, more successful fighter. Curran earned her first UFC victory in December over Emily Kagan. Curran doesn't have anywhere near the power in her striking game that Herrig does, but she has more ways to win a fight. If Curran mixes up her attack, she stands a good chance of winning here. If she remains stationary, she's in trouble.
