Takes vacant Bellator BW belt
Archuleta defeated Patchy Mix via unanimous decision (49-46, 48-47, 48-47) at Bellator 246 on Saturday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
ANALYSIS
Going up against an undefeated fighter roughly six years younger, Archuleta got the job done to claim the belt previously occupied by Kyoji Horiguchi. It wasn't an easy task against Mix, who is known as a fast starter and stayed in control with his grappling in the fight's first 7-8 minutes. It wasn't until Round 3 when Archuleta started to gain the edge with his striking, using repeated body shots to keep Mix at bay. Those shots started to take their toll, tiring Mix and leaving him unable to turn to his wrestling in the championship rounds. Archuleta is a veteran of 27 professional fights, and his only loss under the Bellator banner is to current two-division champion Patricio Freire.

Enters Bellator bantamweight division title picture
Archuleta defeated Ricky Bandejas via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at Bellator 214 on Saturday in Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
This was a very close fight between two game fighters. In the end, it looks like Archuleta was able to take the decision due to his experience and gamesmanship. He certainly ate some big shots from Bandejas, but he was able to land with more volume. Plus, it seemed like he would close the distance following exchanges and continue to work in the clinch. As previously stated, this was a close fight, but he did enough to pull it out. He is now 22-1 as a professional and riding a four-fight winning streak in Bellator. He should find himself in the bantamweight title picture very soon.

Is looking more and more like a contender
Archuleta defeated Jeremy Spoon via unanimous decision (30-25, 30-26, 30-26) at Bellator 210 on Friday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
Archuleta appeared to be all over Spoon from the opening bell. He dominated the striking exchanges with quick straight punches to both the head and the body. When the fight went to the ground, he was able to take the back seemingly at will. He did not score a finish, but this fight was one-sided domination. Archuleta is now 21-1 overall and 3-0 in Bellator. Featherweight has always been one of the promotion's strongest divisions, but Archuleta is getting closer and closer to a title fight.

Explodes for third-round finish at Bellator 201
Archuleta defeated Robbie Peralta via KO (punch) at 0:14 of Round 3 at Bellator 201 on Friday in Temecula, Calif.
ANALYSIS
Archuleta has made the most of his two recent appearances in Bellator. In this fight, he did a good job mixing up his striking and his wrestling. He fought at a staccato pace, but everything he did was explosive. He went for a variety of jumping knees and rare takedowns. In the third round, Archuleta faked a takedown and came over the top with a right punch. The strike dropped Peralta, and the fight was over.

Scheduled for Bellator 201
Archuleta will fight Robbie Peralta at Bellator 201 on June 29th in California.
ANALYSIS
Archuleta continues to dominate his opponents, winning each of his last 13 fights and owning an overall record of 18-1. The 30-year-old featherweight will be matching up with a fellow veteran of the Octagon in June, however, as his opponent, Robbie Peralta, is 32 years old and owns a career record of 19-8. Peralta has just one win over his last five fights, so Archuleta should have the advantage in terms of confidence and momentum. Most recently in March, Archuleta defeated William Joplin by unanimous decision at Bellator 195.
