Likely done with UFC after another loss Saturday
Hendricks lost to Paulo Costa via TKO (punches) at 1:23 of Round 2 at UFC 217 on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
ANALYSIS
Hendricks did all he could to hang in and then some but the physical discrepancy between the two men was just too much to overcome. Costa literally appeared to be twice Hendricks' size. Johny managed a combination here and there and connected with a few leg kicks but he spent the majority of the fight being pushed up against the fence by the younger, faster Brazilian. The former UFC Welterweight Champion is now 1-5 in his last six fights and he has just one win since March 2015. This was also reportedly the final fight on Hendricks' UFC contract. If that is indeed the case, it will make the company's decision a whole lot easier. Hendricks deserves to be released given how he has performed over the past two-plus years and now the UFC can choose to simply not re-sign him.

Headed for Jackson-Wink MMA
Hendricks stated via his personal Twitter account that he intends to train with Jackson-Wink MMA prior to his UFC 217 matchup against Paulo Borrachinha.
ANALYSIS
Hendricks had previously been affiliated with "Team Takedown" in Texas, but the middleweight appears to have decided to switch up camps, instead heading to one of the most prestigious MMA gyms in the country. Coaches Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn train some of the top UFC fighters, including Jon Jones, Alistair Overeem, Holly Holm and Carlos Condit, and will have a full lineup of middleweights that can serve as training partners for Hendricks. "Bigg Rigg" is just 1-4 in his last five bouts and 1-1 since moving up to the 185-pound division, so a change seems to have been necessary for the former welterweight champion. In addition to losing fights, Hendricks' same troubles with weight cutting have resurfaced, as he missed the mark for the third time in his UFC career prior to his last matchup against Tim Boetsch, who finished him in the second round via TKO (head kick and punches). At 34 years old, this may be one of the final opportunities for Hendricks to get his fighting career back on track. Should he lose to an unranked fighter or have more troubles on the scales, he could be on his way out of the promotion.

Added to UFC 217 at Madison Square Garden
Hendricks will take on Paulo Borrachinha in a middleweight matchup at UFC 217 on Nov. 4 at Madison Square Garden, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's been a tumultuous journey to the 185-pound division for Hendricks, who fell to 1-1 as a middleweight after getting viciously knocked out via a Tim Boetsch head kick back on June 25. The more concerning part about that defeat is that Hendricks, who is already undersized for a middleweight, came in two pounds over the limit for that fight. The 33-year-old brushed the situation off as fluky, though no fighter has missed weight for a UFC bout more times in their career than Hendricks. The promotion seems unlikely to ever part ways with "Bigg Rigg" entirely, though it is worth noting that he's just 2-4 overall since losing his belt back in 2014. The road ahead won't be any easier for Hendricks, who draws an undefeated, 26-year-old prospect with a TKO victory in both of UFC appearances. Nine of Borrachinha's professional victories have been via knockout, making this a dangerous matchup for the fading chin of "Bigg Rigg." He might be wise to turn back to his wrestling, as Borrachinha was taken down twice in his last fight against Oluwale Bamgbose. That said, Hendricks -- who averages 3.92 takedowns per 15 minutes in his UFC career -- has yet to truly put his wrestling skills on display against the larger fighters of the 185-pound division. He was taken down twice in his middleweight debut against Hector Lombard.

Loses via TKO following a head kick at UFC Fight Night 112
Hendricks was defeated by Tim Boetsch via TKO (punches) at 0:46 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 112 on Sunday in Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Hendricks missed weight by two pounds before this fight. He was searching to land his big left hand throughout the first round. All of his movements and strikes were used attempting to set up the left, but he never connected. "Bigg Rigg" was definitely the smaller man in the Octagon, and Boetsch was able to use body kicks to keep Hendricks at range. The first round was very close. The second round didn't last long as Boetsch landed a right high kick that hurt Hendricks badly. Boetsch jumped on him and landed a few more uppercuts followed by strikes on the ground until the referee stepped in.

Struggles with scales continue
Hendricks missed weight for Sunday's middleweight matchup against Tim Boetsch at UFC Oklahoma City, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hendricks missed weight for the third time in his UFC tenure, but this was the first occurrence since his move to middleweight. The last two times he failed to make weight were while fighting in the welterweight division, which is what prompted his move up to 185 pounds in the first place. After weighing in at 188 pounds -- a full two pounds over the middleweight limit in non-title fights -- Hendricks will move forward with the scheduled bout, but will face a fine of 20 percent of his purse. Win or lose Sunday, Hendricks has an interesting discussion with UFC brass ahead.
