Set to fight Peterson
Pogues is slated to square off against Thomas Petersen at a UFC event on Feb. 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Pogues is coming off a loss to Michael Parkin via unanimous decision in July. The defeat brought his record with the company to 1-1, as he defeated Josh Parisian in his debut. He was on the short end of a 95-36 significant strike count to Parkin, so it remains to be seen if he will be more aggressive when he takes on Petersen, who is making his company debut.

No-shows London loss
Pogues lost to Michael Parkin via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Pogues got past Josh Parisian in his company debut this past February on the strength of five successful takedowns, which makes the fact he attempted just one (it failed) in this fight all the more baffling. Pogues showed nothing on the feet here, starting slowly and getting progressively worse as the bout progressed. Pogues was never in real trouble, but it's hard to win a decision when you find yourself on the short end of a 95-36 significant strikes count. Set to turn 28 years of age this coming December, Pogues' upside is limited.

Second fight scheduled
Pogues will fight Michael Parkin in a heavyweight bout at UFC London on July 22, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Currently, Pogues' next fight is expected to be his second as a UFC athlete. The bout will be against an undefeated English fighter competing in his own country. Parkin is 6-0 with no decision wins. In contrast, the 10-3 Pogues is 5-0 in terms of decision results.

Leans on wrestling in debut win
Pogues defeated Josh Parisian via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Making his long-awaited UFC debut, Pogues put forth a solid, if unspectacular, performance. Given Parisian's past issues defending the takedown, Pogues wisely fired off 11 takedown attempts. Five of them landed, good for 5:49 worth of control time. It would have been nice to see Pogues do a bit more with his positional advantage in terms of damaging his opponent, but the five successful attempts undoubtedly played a major role in helping Pogues earn the decision win. It will be interesting to see how the 27-year-old California native performs his next time out against what will likely be a better opponent.
