Drops fourth-straight fight at UFC Chile
Briones lost to Frankie Saenz via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Santiago, Chile.
ANALYSIS
Briones was an underdog in this fight, and he gave it all he had. Unfortunately, it was not enough. Saenz was able to jump in and score with his striking and takedowns. Briones was game and came back with his wild combinations. While he did land some strikes, he was never close to winning a round. Briones has now lost four fights in a row and likely will be leaving the UFC.

Outclassed on the Ground in Round 1 Submission Loss
Briones was defeated by Rani Yahya via submission (kimura) at 2:01 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 114 on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
From the start of the fight everybody knew Briones could not allow the fight to go to the ground. Even though his game plan was almost certainly to keep the fight standing, "Bure" was taken to the ground by Yahya in less than a minute. Briones did a good job of defending the first choke, but then in defending that choke left himself open for the kimura which ultimately led to the tap. This is Briones' third loss in a row, and third in four UFC appearances. There is a very real possibility he will be released by the promotion.

Finished by Douglas Silva de Andrade in Mexico City
Briones lost to Douglas Silva de Andrade via TKO (Spinning Back Fist) at 2:33 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Briones' fast start quickly fell by the wayside. He struggled to deal with the power of Silva de Andrade as the fight progressed and Briones never had a chance once the picture-perfect spinning back fist that ended the fight connected. An alert stoppage by referee Keith Peterson was the only thing that saved Briones from suffering more substantial damage. Briones has now lost both of his fights since winning his UFC debut over Guido Cannetti in November 2014. If you're nothing more than roster depth, it's a good idea to try and fight more than once a year.

Henry Briones: Loses To Cody Garbrandt Saturday
Briones fell to Cody Garbrandt via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 189 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Briones did a nice job of hanging in there after being flattened with a right hand in Round 2, but he just didn't land enough shots in the bout. His jab seemed to be working pretty well, but in a fight that was contested on the feet the entire time, he just couldn't come close to matching the striking speed of Garbrandt. Briones falls to 1-1 in the UFC.

Henry Briones: Big Underdog Against Cody Garbrandt Saturday
Briones will be a big underdog for Saturday's bantamweight fight against Cody Garbrandt at UFC 189 in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Briones will have the experience edge on Saturday, but that's about it. He's going to have an awfully hard time matching the speed of Garbrandt. He won his UFC debut via submission in November against Guido Cannetti.
