Needs follow-up surgery on knee
Herrig will undergo a second knee surgery Oct. 5, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The strawweight fighter had some damage that was not addressed after her earlier surgery to repair a torn ACL in 2019. Herrig is still dealing with meniscus and PCL issues, which she hopes the follow-up procedure will resolve. She'll face a projected recovery timeline of 3-to-6 months once she goes under the knife.

Lasts 104 seconds in return
Herrig lost to Virna Jandiroba via submission (Armbar) at 1:44 of Round 1 at UFC 253 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Herrig's first fight in 22 months lasted all of 104 seconds. She found herself on her back about 15 seconds into the fight and was never able to recover. This was a tough situation for Felice. She was coming off a torn ACL and was going up against a legitimate contender. On top of that, she was having all sorts of issues with her usually training situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It remains to be seen where Herrig goes from here. She's now 35 years of age and has barely fought over the course of the last two years. She has some tough decisions to make.
