Drops another fight
WelterweightBellator
June 24, 2019
Silva lost to Paul Daley via unanimous decision (27-29, 27-29, 27-29) at Bellator 223 on Friday in London.
ANALYSIS
Silva got off to a good start, taking Daley to the ground and even getting his back in the first round. It all went downhill in the second frame, however. Daley landed early and continued to bring the punishment, and the fight could have easily been stopped by referee Mike Beltran. Silva managed to survive despite giving up a 10-8 round, but he was dazed and ultimately unable to get the tide to turn back in his favor. While the Brazilian is clearly tough, he's now lost four of his last five fights, making it unlikely he finds his way into the title conversation in any major promotions.

To fight Amosov
WelterweightBellator
January 10, 2019
Silva will face off against Yaroslav Amosov at Bellator 216 on February 16, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva missed his last scheduled fight in October due to an injury and will now seek to be the first to defeat Amosov, who enters the fight with a 20-0 record. Silva has a career record of 20-9 but has gone just 8-8 over his last 16 bouts. A win over Amosov would be a nice comeback for the 34-year-old fighter.
Struggles continue Saturday in Winnipeg
WelterweightBellator
December 16, 2017
Silva lost to Jordan Mein via unanimous decision (26-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC on FOX 26 on Saturday in Winnipeg.
ANALYSIS
It was a typical uneven performance from Silva. Continuing what has become a theme of late, the Brazilian spent far too much time up against the fence in which Mein was allowed to unload with uncontested combinations. Given all the physical gifts that he brings to the table, Silva's career has been a rousing failure. He is 1-4 in his last five fights and he is closer to being released than he is to making an impact in the UFC's welterweight division.
Added against Jordan Mein
WelterweightBellator
October 13, 2017
Silva will face Jordan Mein in a welterweight fight on Dec. 16 in Winnipeg, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva was topped by Yancy Medeiros via TKO at UFC 212 in June and will return to the arena to take on Mein, who enters having lost his last three bouts to quality opponents. The veteran maintains a 19-8, 1NC record with 12 submissions victories. On the other side of the fight, Mein was defeated by Belal Muhammed in a unanimous decision in Las Vegas on July 8.
Denied UFC 212 appeal
WelterweightBellator
June 27, 2017
Silva was denied an appeal of his June 3 loss to Yancy Medeiros at UFC 212, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A long shot from the beginning, the TKO defeat will be upheld, leaving Silva with a 1-3 record in his last four trips to the Octagon. He had been attempting to argue that referee Eduardo Herdy called off the fight too early, but the CABMMA (Brazilian Athletic Commission) ultimately affirmed Herdy's decision. Silva is likely as motivated as ever for a rematch, though his next trip -- Meideiros or otherwise -- is more likely to fall outside the friendly confines of a Brazilian crowd.
Appealing UFC 212 defeat
WelterweightBellator
June 19, 2017
Silva will appeal his TKO loss to Yancy Medeiros at UFC 212 on June 3, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva took a huge right hand from Medeiros that eventually led to the end of the fight, but many thought referee Eduardo Herdy may have jumped the gun on the stoppage. Silva believes his loss should instead be changed to a no-contest, and it willing to travel to Hawaii for a rematch in hostile territory. It seems unlikely that the CABMMA (Brazilian Athletic Commission) will budge on this one, though now that the UFC has a Hawaiian champion in Max Holloway, an event located there is not outside the realm of possibility. It remains to be seen if UFC brass will succumb to Silva's hopes of a rematch, however.
