Efrain Escudero: Continues struggles against Leandro Silva Saturday
Escudero lost to Leandro Silva via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Monterrey, Mexico.
ANALYSIS
A mediocre start and a dreadful third round put an end to Escudero's hopes in this one. Escudero is just 29-years old, but he has already had 11 fights in the UFC. Unfortunately, he is 2-5 in his last seven fights and he has just two wins since May 2010. Known for his wrestling and ground game, Escudero's striking has just never improved to a point where he is a serious threat to beat better fighters. Considering he was just a coach on The Ultimate Fighter Latin America series, it's hard to believe that Escudero's job is in any jeopardy.

Efrain Escudero: Submits Drew Dober Saturday
Efrain Escudero defeated Drew Dober via submission (guillotine) at 0:54 of Round 1 at UFC 188 on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
In his third stint in the UFC, it seems like Escudero is finally getting his act together. Escudero blocked a kick and then slapped on the guillotine when Dober fell to the ground. Even though Escudero made his UFC debut way back in 2008, he's still just 29-years-old. He's nowhere near a top-10 caliber fighter, but there's definite improvement.

Escudero will enter Saturday's lightweight bout at UFC 188 in Mexico City as the underdog against Drew Dober.
ANALYSIS
Escudero will have the home crowd behind him Saturday night, and will look to build momentum following a victory by unanimous decision over Rodrigo de Lima on Feb. 14.
