Not competitive after weight issues
WelterweightUFC
October 31, 2020
Williams lost to Jason Witt via submission (arm-triangle) at 2:09 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to find a UFC fighter who looked worse than Williams in their first two bouts with the company. After missing weight by five pounds for his UFC debut and being submitted in the first round back in August 2019, Williams missed weight by 4.5 pounds on Friday before tapping out to Witt in Round 2. Technically, Williams is trending upwards considering he saw a second frame on Saturday, but his odds of ever getting a third opportunity with the UFC would appear to be somewhere between slim and none.

Misses weight but fight remains on
WelterweightUFC
October 30, 2020
Williams missed weight by 4.5 pounds ahead of his upcoming fight Saturday against Jason Witt, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Per MMAFighting.com, the fight remains on, with Williams forced to forfeit 40 percent of his purse to his opponent. Williams is now 2-for-2 in badly missing weight thus far in his UFC career, as he missed by a full five pounds in his UFC debut back in August of 2019.
Draws Witt in October
WelterweightUFC
September 28, 2020
Williams will take on Jason Witt in a welterweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for Oct. 31 in Las Vegas, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams is 11-2-0 as a professional fighter, but everything that could have gone wrong with his brief UFC run has done so. He missed weight by five pounds for his UFC debut in August of 2019, and then went on to lose via submission in the first round to Claudio Silva, landing just two significant strikes in the process. He was then scheduled for an April fight against Philip Rowe that was ultimately canceled due to the pandemic. He'll get another shot now against Witt, another 0-1 fighter who managed less than a minute in the cage in his short-notice debut. Williams will enter with height and reach advantages, though Witt has the experience edge with more pro bouts, as well as having spent time with Bellator and LFA.
Gets another shot in UFC
WelterweightUFC
March 5, 2020
Williams will face Philip Rowe in a welterweight matchup at UFC Portland on April 11, Farah Hannoun of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This fight, scheduled for the early prelims, will give Williams an opportunity to bounce back from a dreadful promotional debut. Williams was beaten handily by Claudio Silva, losing the striking battle 32-to-2 before being submitted via neck crank in the first round. He'll take on an opponent in Rowe who is a younger fighter with height and reach advantages.
No-shows UFC debut
WelterweightUFC
August 3, 2019
Williams lost to Claudio Silva via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:35 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 5 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
What a disaster. As if missing weight by five pounds for your UFC debut wasn't bad enough, Williams still got a chance to compete and lasted all of 155 seconds. He offered no resistance as Silva easily dragged him to the mat and it was academic from there. Most fighters get a second chance with the company even if they no-show their trial run, but Williams could be the rare exception.
Misses weight, fight will go on
WelterweightUFC
August 2, 2019
Williams missed weight by five pounds Friday but his welterweight fight against Claudio Silva at UFC Newark is still on for Saturday, Danny Segura of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not the best first impression for Williams, who is set to make his UFC debut Saturday, but the fight will still go on. Williams will, however, have to forfeit 30 percent of his purse to Silva.
