Struggles continue in Sacramento
Ferreira lost to Marvin Vettori via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
It was a shockingly concerning effort from the 34-year-old Ferreira. Unable to defend himself properly on the feet and hesitant to put together combinations, Ferreira landed just 41 total strikes compared to 106 from Vettori. He clearly dropped all three rounds, although the first was probably his best. It got progressively more lopsided from there. Ferreira defeated middleweight contender Jack Hermansson and light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith in a four-month span back in 2016, but this clearly isn't the same guy. The loser of back-to-back fights, Ferreira needs a win in the worst way his next time out.

Fighting Vettori at UFC Sacramento
Ferreira (knee) will take on Marvin Vettori in a middleweight matchup at UFC Sacramento on July 13.
ANALYSIS
Ferreira has won five of his past seven fights, though he most recently suffered a unanimous decision loss to Ian Heinisch. He was then scheduled to face Tom Breese in February's card in London, but was forced to withdraw due to an unspecified knee injury. Now presumably healthy, he'll look to get back in the win column in what will be his 15th fight with the company. Ferreira won't impress many with his striking, but he does own nearly three takedowns per 15 minutes of fight time in his long career, while Vettori's takedown defense sits at 73 percent.

Falters in decision loss
Ferreira lost to Ian Heinisch via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night 140 on Saturday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
ANALYSIS
It was widely assumed that Ferreira would have the jujitsu advantage in this fight but it was Heinisch who threatened with an armbar in Round 1 and prevented "Mutante" from advancing position during takedowns. It was looking like the fight was swinging back in Ferreira's favor in Round 2 but he never quite recovered the momentum after being knocked down at the end of the frame. While his jujitsu is still a weapon in the cage, it looks as though he is still hittable on the feet, and doesn't come with enough output to balance the scales. He falls to 13-7 as a result of the loss.
