Loughnane defeated Bubba Jenkins via TKO (punches) at 2:38 of Round 4 to win the 2022 PFL Featherweight Championship and $1 million top prize.

Loughnane won three decisions in 2022 to clinch his spot in the title, where both his cardio and toughness shined. He seemed to get stronger as the fight went on before ultimately closing the show with a straight right hand that send Jenkins covering up. After a big knee, it was all over. The 32-year-old Loughnane was not given a UFC contract via Dana White's Contender Series when he defeated current UFC fighter Bill Algeo back in 2019, but he appears to have found a financially-viable home in the PFL and should be one of the favorites in the 2023 tournament.
