Struggles continue in Vegas
BantamweightUFC
October 15, 2022
Davis lost to Mana Martinez via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Although this was a close, competitive fight, you'd still likely be hard pressed to find all that many people that scored it for Davis. That said, Brandon looked just fine for a fighter without a UFC victory in more than three years. He matched Martinez punch-for-punch, with Davis' best round being the third. The total strike count went to Martinez by a razor-thin 87-84 margin. Davis might deserve another opportunity with the UFC after this effort, but it would be far from shocking to see them move on from a guy with a 2-7 record over the course of two separate stints with the company.

Will face Mana Martinez
BantamweightUFC
August 10, 2022
Davis will face Mana Martinez in a bantamweight contest at a UFC event on October 15th, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Davis had stacked four wins in a row before loosing way back in October to Danaa Batgerel. He'll now face a fighter of similar stature and measurables, albeit six years younger, in Martinez.
Lasts barely two minutes in return

October 16, 2021
Davis lost to Danaa Batgerel via TKO (strikes) at 2:01 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Davis was released by the UFC in February 2020 and then re-signed earlier this month following a four-fight winning streak on the regional circuit. He lasted barely two minutes in his return. Davis got popped with a right hand and several additional follow-up strikes from Batgerel, which caused referee Herb Dean to step in and call off the bout. All told, Davis now has a 2-6 record of the course of his two stints with the company. The "highlight" of his career with the UFC thus far was a split-decision defeat to top featherweight contender Giga Chikadze back in September 2019.
Back in UFC, fighting Oct. 16
BantamweightUFC
October 4, 2021
Davis re-signed with the UFC on Monday and is scheduled to face Danaa Batgerel in a bantamweight fight set for Oct. 16 at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nolan King and Farah Hannoun of USA Today report.
ANALYSIS
After releasing Davis in early 2020, the UFC will welcome the 31-year-old back into the fold 20 months later following his four consecutive wins in the Gulf Coast MMA promotion. Prior to being cut, Davis took consecutive split-decision losses, so he'll be seeking his first UFC win since April 2019 when he takes on Batgerel.

Davis has been released from the UFC, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Davis was one of the first fighters to earn his UFC contract via Dana White's Contender Series, doing so with a win over Austin Arnett back in August of 2017. He proceeded to compile a 2-5 record with the company, including four losses in his last five fights. While his most recent two defeats came via split decision, it still wasn't enough to convince UFC brass to keep him around. At 29 years old, Davis should have no problem finding work with another promotion.
Late charge not enough
BantamweightUFC
September 29, 2019
Davis lost to Giga Chikadze via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Copenhagen on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
There was quite a bit of confusion here, as the fight was originally announced as a split draw, but UFC officials later corrected the mistake that occurred when tallying the scoring. It was a very close fight in which Davis was the inferior striker, but he did accumulate more grappling statistics, including three takedowns and four passes. While Davis appeared to take Round 3, it took him too long to get going, which ultimately cost him the fight. Even though this was a fight Davis was supposed to win as a (-155) betting favorite, he'll come away with his fourth loss in his last five trips to the Octagon.
