Looking to bounce back vs Ankalaev
Rakic will face Magomed Ankalaev in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 308 on Oct. 26, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rakic will do everything in his power to come out on top against Ankalaev, as he's at risk of dropping three straight fights. His last defeat came at the hands of Jiri Prochazka back in April. Rakic is looking to recapture the magic from his early UFC career, in which he won five of his first six fights. He'll have to do it against an extremely talented fighter in Ankalaev who has only lost once in his professional MMA career - and that loss came back in 2018.

Finished in return from long layoff
Rakic lost to Jiri Prochazka via TKO (strikes) at 3:17 of Round 2 at UFC 300 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fighting for the first time in nearly two years, Rakic looked excellent up until the finishing sequence. He made a point to damage Prochazka with leg kicks, something Jiri's previous opponent, Alex Pereira, did brilliantly. Yet, it was clear from the very start that Prochazka wasn't concerned with the power from Rakic coming back his way. As a result, he continued to push forward and eventually blitzed his opponent, leading to the finish. All in all, it was an encouraging return for Rakic given all the time away and the level of opposition he was facing. His next challenge will be to return to the win column his next time out.

Next fight booked
Rakic is scheduled to face Jiri Prochazka in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 300 in Las Vegas on April 13, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Rakic has drawn Jiri Prochazka for his next bout, which figures to be a massively hyped-up event. The 31-year-old Austrian fighter, fresh off a loss to Jan Blachowicz, maintains a relatively untarnished 6-2 record during his time within the UFC, but he will have his hands full in a showdown with Prochazka.

Looking for new opponent
Rakic will not fight Jan Blachowicz at UFC 297 on Jan. 20, according to Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Jan Blachowicz withdrew from the fight and will undergo shoulder surgery. Rakic has called out Jiri Prochazka in response, but it may be highly unlikely the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion accepts said proposal after coming up short against Alex Pereira at UFC 295 less than one month ago.

Gets rematch with Blachowicz
Rakic (knee) will fight Jan Blachowicz at UFC 297 on Jan. 20, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rakic tore his ACL while fighting Blachowicz in May 2022, and has been held out of action since then. Now that he's healthy, Rakic will get another shot at Blachowicz and look to improve to 7-2 within the UFC.
