Primeau is at the Leafs camp on a try-out basis. He'll be hard-pressed to make the Buds but could catch on with another team late during camp.
Primeau's value lies in the past. He doesn't really have PIM value any more, either. Avoid him on draft day.
Primeau was in and out of the Calgary lineup last season, as his 10 points and poor plus-minus in 43 games made him a healthy scratch from time to time. He should make the team again, but will likely be relegated to fourth-line center.
A player with a career plus/minus rating of minus-88 usually isn't a coveted one, but Calgary really liked what they saw of Primeau last season and he has played for a lot of really bad teams. Playing on a fairly decent third line with Matthew Lombardi and David Moss, Primeau could come close to his career high of 29 points this season.
Primeau is one of those smothering third-line checkers whose size (6'4" and 230 lbs) simply overwhelmes the opposition. He's much better on ice than in the fantasy world, so stay away come draft day.
He's a checking line worker bee who probably won't score more than 20-25 points. In most pools, that equals little to no value.
