Biggs is not the next Milan Lucic. That comparison is gone, along with his fantasy future. He's been slow to develop and is now viewed as a fourth-line grinder at best.
Biggs loves -- and we mean LOVES -- the physical side of the game. But, like almost all burgeoning power forwards, his development curve will be long and slow. The Milan Lucic comparisons are a bit premature -- he'll need to seriously work on his hands to even come close to that. Don't expect him to see regular NHL ice time for probably four seasons. Just remember his name.
Biggs is nasty -- in fact, he was probably the nastiest guy in the 2011 draft class. But as big, strong and nasty as he was last season, he was also painfully inconsistent and -- at times -- remarkably dumb. Still, he has decent skill and he profiles a bit like Milan Lucic's package of goals and hits. But there are serious holes in his game (skating, smarts) that will need to be developed when he hits the college game this season. His ticket is likely as a third-line freight train if he can’t find that next level.
