2018 Fantasy Outlook
The Coyotes needed to bolster their blue-line depth, so they pried Murphy away from Nashville last February. While there's no draft history on his resume, the 23-year-old has plenty of experience flaunting his offensive skill set at the various levels. For instance, Murphy amassed 140 points (42 goals, 98 assists) over 235 OHL games split between Peterborough and Windsor from 2011-15, and he regressed only slightly upon turning pro based on a 100-point (33 goals, 67 assists) output in 193 games as a key cog for Milwaukee and Tucson. Finally, he looked like a natural upon producing one goal, two helpers and a plus-5 rating through his first eight NHL outings last season. It could take him a few years to capture the attention of fantasy owners, but the physical rearguard is still intriguing.
