2024 Fantasy Outlook
Ersson emerged as the starter for the Flyers in 2023-24. He got off to a solid start, but his play suffered as the season progressed. He was elite until Jan. 18 (.927 save percentage and 1.85 GAA) if you omit the 12 goals allowed in his first two outings of the year. After that, he posted a 3.23 GAA and an .876 save percentage in 31 contests. Ersson will split time this season with Ivan Fedotov, and that rest should help him avoid the rigors of a heavy workload. Consequently, Ersson could be a potential steal in daily formats where lightning in a bottle can deliver positive results. However, he may not be a suitable long-term option for fantasy managers if his consistency doesn't improve. Read Past Outlooks

Slated to miss time

Lower Body
November 15, 2024
Ersson reinjured his previous lower-body issue and is expected to be out for 1-2 weeks, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Ersson's timeline would see him miss at least the Flyers' next three contests, though it sounds like it could be longer. Given that recovery timeline, it wouldn't be a shock to see the team designate the netminder for injured reserve. Look for Ivan Fedotov to get the bulk of the workload for the time being -- though Aleksei Kolosov should be in contention as well.

Dealing with minor injury
GPhiladelphia Flyers
November 4, 2024
Ersson's injury suffered against Boston on Saturday is believed to be a minor groin issue, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports Monday.
ANALYSIS
Ersson was forced to leave Saturday's matchup after facing just eight shots on net. Prior to getting hurt, the 25-year-old netminder was riding a three-game winning streak during which he posted a 2.00 GAA and .917 save percentage. While Ersson is sidelined, Aleksei Kolosov could get the chance to serve as the No. 1 option, though Ivan Fedotov will also be in the mix for starts.
