ANALYSIS
After his college career with the Golden Gophers, Potulny was drafted by the Flyers in the third round of the 2003 NHL Draft. The center would go on to log 126 NHL games for Philadelphia, Edmonton, Chicago and Ottawa -- with his final NHL game coming in 2010-11. Following a three-year stint playing overseas, the North Dakota native will return to his alma mater and give coaching a try.

This player will have no fantasy value in 2013-14 and can be ignored in all formats.
Potulny is a journeyman who has 126 games of NHL experience under his belt. He will likely be playing in the AHL this season and just provides depth for the organization.
Potulny's 32 points last season with Edmonton were a career high. Now in Chicago with a one-year contract, he should be far more valuable to the defending champs than he would your fantasy team. Most of the points in the Windy City come from the sticks of bigger stars like Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, just to name a few.
Potulny started the season with Edmonton but played the majority of his games for Springfield of the AHL where he totaled 38 goals and 62 points in 70 games. Potulny has showed the ability to score in Springfield, but will need to do the same at the NHL level to remain with the Oilers. He's probably ticketed for Springfield to begin the season, but will eventually get another chance with the Oilers.
Potulny was acquired by the Oilers from Philadelphia. Would have to pass through waivers to be sent down to the AHL, so he will have a better chance than most to stick with the Oilers.
Potulny will miss the first week of training camp after having surgery to remove the bursa sac from his right ankle on Aug. 29. Potulny recorded seven goals and five assists in 35 games with the Flyers last season and is expected to challenge for the role of fourth-line center.
