Lessio, a second-round pick of 2011, was developing into a strong two-way player, playing key roles with AHL Portland as a member of the Coyotes organization. He even played in 12 NHL games this past season following a trade to Montreal, but didn't make much of an impact with just two points. At 23 years old, Lessio’s hockey career is far from over, but he must show that he’s capable of playing at the NHL level, or otherwise suffer as a tweener – a player too good for the minors but just not quite good enough for the show. His speed and scoring ability can be valuable weapons for teams looking to take a chance on a young, bottom-six forward with a little upside.
