Bichsel had two goals, four points and 28 PIM in 29 regular-season games with Rogle BK in Sweden in 2023-24. He also registered one goal, seven points and 34 PIM across 16 regular-season outings with AHL Texas. Selected with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, Bichsel is a towering defenseman with plenty of potential, but he'll need more time to hone his skills before eventually making his NHL debut.

Bichsel will be pressed into service against the Oilers in Game 5 on Friday if Chris Tanev can't play due to his lower-body injury, Sean Shapiro of EP Rinkside reports.

ANALYSIS
Bichsel will be making his NHL debut in a critical playoff contest if Tanev is unable to go. The 20-year-old Bischel split his time between the AHL and Sweden this year, playing in a combined 45 games in which he generated three goals and eight assists. As such, even if Bichsel does enter the lineup versus Edmonton, he won't offer much offensive upside.
