Farinacci inked a two-year, entry-level contract with Boston on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Farinacci had five goals and 20 points in 19 NCAA games with Harvard University last season. The 22-year-old was selected by Arizona with the No. 76 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, but he never signed with the Coyotes, which led to him becoming an unrestricted free agent this summer. Farinacci will return to Harvard for his junior season, per Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Farinacci has recorded 20 goals and 21 assists in 60 games over two seasons with the Ivy League school. Selected by the Coyotes in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft, the 21-year-old center will defer at least one more season before making the jump to the professional ranks. Even once he does sign an entry-level deal with Arizona, Farinacci will likely have to spend some time developing his game in the minors with AHL Tucson.
