Perrault, acquired by the Ducks on Monday, is recovering from an ankle injury and should be back in action in about 10 days, according to coach Terry Murray, the Ducks' Official Twitter Feed reports.
ANALYSIS
Perrault is a depth guy the Ducks may be able to use on a bottom line in their quest for a final playoff spot. But with things so tight in the West -- the Ducks are in 11th with 71 points, but are just a point out of seventh and seven points out of third -- even the contributions of extreme role players count as well.

Perreault is fresh off another productive season, recording 17 goals and 22 assists to fall one point shy of the reaching the 40-point threshold for the fifth straight year. The shifty center was a disappointment in the 2018 Western Conference finals -- as No. 85 failed to etch the scoresheet in any of the five games versus the Golden Knights -- though he still made modest defensive contributions based on nine hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. Perreault has accrued 56 power-play points since arriving in Winnipeg ahead of the 2014-15 campaign. While he'll continue to be in the minority of forwards rocking a heavy man-advantage role despite being no lock for even 15 minutes during a given contest, Perreault seems to make the most of his regular-season opportunities and remains a fine complementary fantasy forward.
Perrault was lured away from Sweden with a one-year deal from the Canucks this offseason, but don’t expect the 27-year-old pivot to have too large of a role with the Orcas. He’ll give the team an extra option on the fourth line, but Perrault will likely spend his fair share of time in the press box.
Perrault may suffer most from the Phoenix offseason additions at the forward position. He's an in-between player, who is an absolute star in AHL, but there seems to be nowhere for him to play with the big club. Perrault isn't in camp with the big club, but, he has plenty of ability, and could make Phoenix bring him up if he continues to tear up AHL like he did last year with 27 points (14 G, 13 A) in 28 games.
In 2007-2008, Perrault had a solid but not spectacular season. His biggest improvement came with this physical presence on the ice as he made timely hits. However, his offensive production did not blow anyone away. As far as fantasy options go, Perrault is one that you can safely avoid. At best, he will score above 20 - 30 points and will most likely be a third or fourth line option for the Coyotes.
All offense and little defense may contribute to limited ice time when it matters for Perrault. He has worked hard to improve this area of weakness and could be much improved coming into this season. He may eke out a spot with a stellar preseason and if he does, he is worth keeping an eye on to see how he is played during the regular season.
