Hanley drew into eight NHL games with the Stars last year, recording two assists while averaging 11:21 of ice time per game. He also scored his first NHL goal and added a helper in 12 playoff outings. At 29 years old, Hanley is far from a prospect. He hasn't played more than 16 games in a single NHL season, and the Stars' crowded blue line makes it unlikely he'll be anything more than organization depth in 2020-21. Entering the last year of his contract, it's possible Hanley gets traded either before or during the season to a team with less defensive depth.
