Peterson never got much of a chance to stick in the Stars' lineup, but he was productive once he got a chance with the Sharks. He finished the year with eight points in 12 NHL contests as well as 32 points in 52 outings at the AHL level. Given the Sharks' glaring lack of better options, the Swede should be considered a favorite to hold down at least a bottom-six job to begin 2023-24. That weak supporting cast doesn't bode well for his production, but the 24-year-old has the potential to be a decent depth forward for the team. If he can win a top-six job, he might work his way onto the fantasy radar, but that's not likely after San Jose bolstered its wing depth in the offseason.
