Drury earned a regular spot as a member of the Hurricanes' bottom six in 2023-24 and responded by supplying eight goals and 27 points across 74 regular-season contests. He's still just 24, so there's probably some upside here, but Drury isn't likely to make massive strides in 2024-25. If you're in a deep league that uses faceoffs, though, he might be worthy of consideration. He won 367 draws last year and finished with a 55.3 percent success rate, and Drury should find success in that category again in 2024-25. Drury is providing decent depth offense in a fourth-line role this season. He has four points over his last seven contests, and that gives him five points through 13 outings overall. The 24-year-old center has added 15 shots on net and a plus-6 rating. It's not enough offense to get fantasy attention in most formats, but Drury is a player to keep an eye on if the Hurricanes get bit by the injury bug at any point in 2024-25.

Drury, one of Carolina's top prospects, split the season between the Hurricanes and their AHL affiliate in Charlotte. He barely played in his 38-game NHL stint, averaging just 10:47 of ice time per contest and finishing with two goals and eight points. Drury has a long track record of putting up points going back to his days at Harvard, so there are reasons to be optimistic he'd thrive in an expanded role, but he seems unlikely to receive that chance this season as Carolina has legitimate Stanley Cup aspirations. Drury can be ignored in fantasy drafts this fall, but monitor him at the start of the year.
Drury made his NHL debut in 2021-22, appearing in two games for the Hurricanes. He scored a goal in each, putting him on pace for 82 over the course of a full year. That would obviously never happen, but Drury's production in the AHL -- 20 goals and 52 points in 68 games -- shows his offensive abilities are legitimate. The question at this point is whether Carolina will be comfortable with placing him in a bottom-six role. Drury is just 22 years old and the Hurricanes may prefer he get top-line minutes in the minors as opposed to marginal playing time in the NHL in 2022-23. It's a situation to monitor in training camp.
