Lindros officially retired from the NHL Thursday, ending a career derailed by a series of concussions and other injuries, the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindros finishes his career with 372 goals, 865 points and 1,398 penalty minutes in 760 games for Philadelphia, Toronto, the New York Rangers and Dallas. He won the Hart Trophy as league MVP in 1995 and was part of the Canadian Olympic team that won gold in 2002. He also won silver for Canada in 1992. He made it through 13 seasons despite the concussions and other injuries that eventually limited his playing time. The injuries restricted him to an average of only 58 games a season, but he was an impact player when healthy.

Signed with the hope that he'll stay healthy enough to replace the minutes left when Jason Arnott departed via free agency. As is always the case with the Big E, his health will determine his productivity.
Big E is a big risk, no doubt about it. He's another injury waiting to happen as he still cuts toward center with his head down but he fulfilled a lifelong dream when he signed to play for his hometown Leafs. It remains to be seen whether he'll line up at center or on the wing, but we think he's going to pour on the points no matter where he slots in. He's got a one-year contract and wants to prove himself worthy of more time in blue and white. Snake eyes or lucky seven; only you can decide. We're kind of leaning toward the latter.
