Dube took a step forward last season with 18 goals and 27 assists in 82 games. Helping his cause was a newfound spot in a top-six role for the bulk of the season. His development arc was similar to Andrew Mangiapane's a year earlier, but fantasy managers will have to hope Dube can avoid a slump right after his breakout year. He can be a contributor in all situations, though it seems like he'll be limited to the second power-play unit in addition to his penalty-killing duties. If Dube can continue his growth, he should continue to be a solid depth forward for fantasy managers. His 11.9 shooting percentage in 2022-23 was just a sliver higher than his career average, so the production sure looks sustainable, and more could be on the way if his ice time increases from 15:10 per game.
Dube recently completed his fourth NHL season, posting career-best marks in goals (18), assists (14), points (32), shots on goal (143), and hits (87). Dube managed to increase his production despite the fact his average ice time dropped by nearly 50 seconds to 12:50 per game. The Flames lost both Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk this offseason, but it's difficult to see Dube seeing enough playing time, particularly with the man advantage, to help fill the void left by those two. Expect Dube -- who is still just 24 years old -- to again be deployed in a depth role for Calgary, leaving him with little fantasy value in any format.
While many players on the Calgary roster regressed in 2020-21, Dube was one of the few to take a significant step forward. Dube's 11 goals, 11 assists, 84 shots and 13:34 average time on ice were all career-best marks. Dube was also slated to represent his native Canada at the World Championship, but a concussion suffered in Calgary's final game put a halt to those plans. A significant breakthrough is unlikely here since Dube is once again slated to fill a third-line role for the Flames in 2021-22, but he could be worth a look in deeper leagues should he continue his upwards trajectory.
Dube appears ready to make the jump to the NHL full time in 2020-21 after recording six goals and 10 assists in 45 regular-season contests with the big club last season. He also added another five points in 10 playoff outings. The 22-year-old's heavy playing style makes him a natural fit for a third-line role, presumably alongside Milan Lucic and Sam Bennett. While that trio isn't likely to light up the scoresheet, Dube should be capable of 20 to 25 points with roughly 100 hits and 100 shots on goal over the course of a full season. Those numbers aren't likely to interest fantasy managers in standard leagues, but he could be worth a look as a free-agent pickup in deeper formats if he starts the year hot.
Dube wasn't able to stick with the Flames after making the Opening Night roster in 2018-19, leading to a season spent primarily with AHL Stockton. He did, however, tally a goal and four points in 25 games with the big club, and excelled in the minors, racking up 39 points (15 goals, 24 helpers) in 37 contests. The second-round pick from 2016 should be in line for an increased role with the parent club this campaign, especially if the injury bug bites at any point, but it's hard to imagine him becoming a useful fantasy option in 2019-20. That said, Dube's success at the AHL level suggests he'll probably be capable of filling a regular role with an NHL club in the future, so he's a name worth keeping an eye on.
Drafted by the Flames as a 2016 second-round (56th overall) pick, Dube earned the right to be with the parent club at the outset of the 2018-19 season. The skilled pivot appeared in six games for AHL Stockton last year, recording four points in that span. Prior to reporting to the AHL, he torched the WHL as a member of the Kelowna Rockets, amassing 84 points in 53 games. Dube is only 5-foot-10, 183 pounds, but he's had very little trouble compensating for the smaller stature due to his graceful skating skills. Dube may garner interest in the late rounds of fantasy drafts, though he'll presumably need to assert himself physically and play with a confident mindset to stay up at the top level.

Battling injury?

Dube might be dealing with an injury that will cause him to miss Wednesday's game versus Dallas, according to Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun.
ANALYSIS
Dube skipped Wednesday's optional skate, which on its own wouldn't be concerning, but he also missed Tuesday's practice. The 25-year-old isn't listed as injured yet, but if it turns out he's unavailable Wednesday, then Yegor Sharangovich might serve in a top-six role.
